The Modern Housewife
The pillows are a limited edition, discreetly numbered by hand by inmates at Wandsworth Prison through the Fine Cell Work scheme and are made to order with the option to choose a favourite number between 1-111.
London based embroiderer Becky Hogg worked on the lace appliqué that draped the McQueen bodice and veil worn by Kate Middleton in the Spring Royal Wedding - based on traditional Irish 'Carrickmacross' techniques,
lace motifs were cut and applied to silk tulle in intricate patterns and finished with tiny, meticulous stab stitches. For The Modern Housewife Beware the Moon have commissioned Becky to embroider the She motif to dishcloths, which are made into removable pillow covers and luxuriously stuffed with goose down and feathers.
The pillows are presented in bespoke drawstring pouches, handmade in London from ordinary net curtains.
A beautiful handmade feather boudoir pillow fashioned from the humble dishcloth and stitched at the specialist hands of one of the embroiderers of The McQueen Royal wedding dress no less. Hand-finished by inmates in Wandsworth prison and served in a net curtain for the twitcher in all of us.
